MEET THE CREEPS II
By Doctor Ivan Howard Stern Fan Netwok

www.SternFanNetwork.com

I am quite the fan of the first addition of Meet The Creeps, so gentle reader you can imagine the smile on my face when an envelope from Florentine Productions ended up recently in my mailbox.  For those who may be uninitiated, the Meet The Creeps series is a simple idea with unlimited possibilities: Put some button cams and microphones out in everyday places and then do the unexpected to any mark within reach. This is true “Reality TV” and the results are often hysterical!  Frankly, Volume One of Meet The Creeps was a riot and this writer couldn’t wait to pop ‘addition #2’ into the player and let the laughs roll on. Straight up- I was far from disappointed!
The DVD opens with “All You Can Eat Buffet.”  This amusing piece sets the tone for most of the disc. Florentine and Company shine brightest when their target is a group of people who use English as a second language. I wont give anything away, but their outlandish misbehavior in an Asian restaurant gets the staff and the other customers in an uproar. My favorite touch is the convenient subtitling complete with phonetic errors when anyone whom possesses an accent opens their trap in protest… “PRATES!”
For those who are fans of Meet The Creeps Volume 1, there is a new twist on this addition.  The players try their hand at sketch comedy and parody with winning results.  Three separate chapters on the DVD are scripted works and were a radical departure from the remaining pieces. On the first of these “Play Ball!” none other than The Reverend Bob Levy gets a chance to show some of his chops when it comes to situation comedy. Levy is a natural in front of the camera and his portrayal of ‘an angry, frustrated man at the bar’ was a chuckle of self-parody.  The Reverend is that guy and Levy plays him so well.
A true standout on the disc is Club Soda Kenny. For those who are unfamiliar with Club Soda Kenny, he is a behemoth of a man with a hatchet face, and a delivery that can either make you wince with fear or paralyze you with laughter. On several chapters of the disc Kenny is teamed with Jim Norton a human that resembles a nervous weasel - a perfect foil for Kenny’s character. Their exploits on this DVD would have anyone else arrested for assault or many other trumped up charges. Kenny’s size and presence seems to free Norton and himself from any target that would dare challenge them. An advantage consistently exploited throughout this volume.
In closing Meet The Creeps Volume 2 is a delight for any adult who is tired of formulaic, edgeless comedy.  Jim Florentine and Company are not on the edge… They dangerously recreate it!

Jim Florentine LIVE: Get the Kids Out of the Room
By Lisa Panzariello Metal Edge Magazine

If Friends is your idea of quality comedy, Jim Florentine is not the comedian for you. Yet, if you prefer your humor raw, smart, and straight up brutal, his new live CD, Get The Kids Out Of The Room, is a must listen for those whose minds are in the gutter. This New Jersey native appreciates his audience's shared brand of humor and refuses to mince words. "I understand we in very conservative times in this country, that's why we had paul McCartney do the halftime show at the Super Bowl this past year, in case any crazy shit broke out. I wish he did something to mess with the FCC that day, like take his wife's fake leg off and play guitar with it."

Florentine delves into his Special Ed character, gay marriage, drugs, sex, small talk, obesity, dick jokes, and his time as a DJ for weddings before becoming a professional comedian. "I would ruin their weddings on purpose because they were all uptight, and i would play Metallica while they were eating,. And I remember this one bride came up to me, she was like 300 pounds and I was messing with the lights turning them on and off and she was like, "I don't like the lights on and off" so I go, "I figured you were used to it opening and closing the refridgerator all the time."
This self proclaimed metalhead dedicates the CD to his good friend, Dimebag Darrell, who probably pulled just as many childish pranks as Florentine. Some people may think that Jim Florentine as an 8 year-old boy trapped in a man's body, but there's a method to his madness. Get The Kids Out Of The Room is proof that jim Florentine is a breath of fresh air and the epitome of a classic comic.

TERRORIZING TELEMARKETERS VOL 4
By Don Sill

Jim Florentine has become the undisputed master of phone manipulation. He helped put Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers on the map with his prank-call skills and classic characters such as Special Ed and Bobby Fletcher. Florentine’s CD series of prank phone calls, titled Terrorizing Telemarketers, has been a huge success. It virtually stands as Florentine’s ultimate claim to fame and has landed him spots on The Howard Stern Show, VH-1 and Comedy Central stand-up specials.
For those not familiar with the Telemarketers phenomenon, it is a series of recordings in which Florentine and partner Don Jamieson answer annoying calls from telemarketers and play unsuspecting gags on them for the benefit of a few good-hearted laughs.
Florentine has a knack for making the most ridiculous and absurd premises become believable. He manages not only to keep these unsuspecting telemarketers on the phone but also to draw them deep into his lunacy. With a deep, calm, deadpan voice, Florentine manages to get the otherwise-annoying telemarketers confused and riled up and — best of all — makes them stray from their prepared scripts. Listen as they stumble, gasp, break character and lose their oh-so-trained professionalism.
Florentine does this over and over again with such calls as “Enema,” in which a telemarketer attempts to pass along information while Florentine allegedly receives an amateur enema from his roommate. “I gotta get this done; I’ve been backed up for like a week,” he says to the woman on the phone. “I haven’t dropped a deuce in like eight days now.”
And again on “Shotgun,” in which Florentine and Jamieson get a telemarketer so annoyed that he actually threatens to shoot them with a shotgun. “Want me to come there with a sawed-off shotgun and blow your head off?” the telemarketer asks. “Why don’t you give me your account number before I break your face.”
In short, Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 4 is pure mischievous genius. Florentine has raised the bar and become the Yoda of prank calls.

TERRORIZING TELEMARKETERS VOL 3

Jim Florentine is back with a vengeance! His latest effort, Terrorizing Telemarketers III picks up where the last CD left off, and he has proven once again that as long as there is one telemarketer left breathing on the planet to call and annoy us, he’ll be there to make sure that they consider a new line of work. “Special Ed” (Seen & heard on Comedy Central’s “Crank Yankers”, as well as on Jim’s previous CD’s), makes 2 appearances on TT III, with the now world famous “I Got Mail” call as well as in a new prank, where a foreign sounding cell phone hawker get the royal “Yaaaaaay” to just about everything he tries to say. As hilarious as the two calls are, they pale in comparison to the rest of CD. “Grandpa” is briefly resurrected, only to fall victim to Jim’s tender care once again, and a host of new pranks will have you rolling on the floor for hours! Jim has a knack for constantly devising new ways to mess the minds of these menaces to the telecommunicating community, and his bizarre wit and talent shines through on every call. If you hate to laugh, dislike twisted genius, or enjoy being regularly intruded upon by the lowest form of salespeople on the planet, do not get this CD!
Jim’s CD’s can be purchased through his website at www.jimflorentine.com . There is also a schedule of Jim’s standup comedy appearances, as well as a bio and other useful information. If you haven’t already, Jim’s standup is a must-see. If he comes to your town, don’t miss him!

TERRORIZING TELEMARKETERS VOL 3
By Kris Kosach, Cutting Edge Entertainment, Tech TV

"I almost wet my pants! Jim Florentine has outdone himself, and this time we meet his secret weapon, Don Jamieson. Together, these pundits of prank shovel through the giant crap-heap that is telemarketing to seek sweet revenge for all of us. If you're sick of being pestered by script-reading salemen, you'll love the ultimate in vindication, "Terrorizing Telemarketers".

TERRORIZING TELEMARKETERS VOL 2
By Blair R. Fischer, Playboy.com rating: 4 Bunnies, Exceptional

If anyone deserves terrorizing, it's telemarketers. The pariahs who wreak havoc on us all finally get their comeuppance courtesy of comedian Jim Florentine. He psychotically pants while feigning masturbation to a male telemarketer's pitch, purposely mistakes a phone salesman Rich for Bitch and drowns his 82-year-old grandfather in a bathtub while working out shipping details on a delivery. Whereas the Jerky Boys albums were loaded with throwaway prank calls, the 13-track Terrorizing Telemarketers II never falters. Hilarious from beginning to end, Florentine's deadpan delivery and quick-witted phone skills will almost have you feeling sorry for telemarketers. Almost.

TERRORIZING TELEMARKETERS VOL 1
By Mike Morse , Steppin Out Magazine

Being a big fan of "prank phone call" comedy albums, I was intrigued when I received a copy of Jim Florentine's new CD, Terrorizing Telemarketers (Jersey Boys Productions).  Florentine takes the prank call concept popularized by The Jerky Boys and adds a new and very funny twist:  He specializes in pulling these gags only on telemarketers that phone his house.
As someone who is annoyed on a daily basis by these pushy people, it was a pleasure to hear them being tortured by a variety of wild characters (all voiced by Florentine).  These politically incorrect characters, most of whom are either deaf, retarded, emotionally unstable, have eating disorders, narcolepsy, or severe gastrointestinal distress, engage the unsuspecting telemarketers in a hilarious dialogue over the CD's fourteen tracks.
The most amazing thing one discovers while listening to the calls is how resolutely determined these telemarketers are to make a sale, no matter what may be happening to their prospective customer on the other end of the phone.  On a track entitled "Robbed", Florentine pretends to encounter an intruder breaking into his home and despite the ensuing struggle and eventual gunshots, the telemarketer continues to make her sales pitch without breaking stride.
On a track entitled "Dog Died", the telemarketer manages to blurt out his entire spiel despite Florentine's histrionic sobbing over his recently deceased pup.  And on "Retard", the salesman continues attempting to sell his product even after realizing that his customer is mentally challenged and would rather have cotton candy than long distance service.
Florentine expertly orchestrates these scenarios, making each situation more and more outlandish and almost daring his victims to call his bluff.  Fortunately, for us, they never do.
Florentine, a professional standup comedian who has performed all over the U.S., has a superb ability to comically improvise in any situation, and utilizes that talent to its full extent on this collection.

Meet The Creeps DVD
by Patrick, Cringe Humor

I'm not going to sit here & bullshit you, but this DVD is without question one of the funniest things I have seen in a LONG time. The shit that takes place on it is so cringe worthy & wrong, you often sit there & feel bad for laughing like a retarded Japanese school girl.
It is amazing how every member of the DVD keeps a straight face while they mess around with their unsuspecting victims. The stuff that takes place on the hour long comedic masterpiece is going to influence so many people, I wouldn't be surprised if some ignorant parent sues Florentine Productions after their retarded child delivers an upper-decker. Hell, I'm 24 and I can't wait to do one in a hotel room ASAP.
My favorite moment of the DVD takes place when Jim Norton plays the autistic younger brother of 6'6" behemoth Club Soda Kenny. Watching Kenny manhandle & slap around the diminutive Norton is worth the $20 alone. Kenny is such a big, loud, retarded looking goon, it is priceless seeing how uncomfortable he makes other people.
Other highlights include a hilarious version of the "You Dropped Something" game, Artie Lange buying gay porno, Florentine's obsession with pepper, and Jim & Don acting like priests at a Girls Gone Wild club event. There is also an animated version of the "Brothers" phone call from Jim's Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 3 CD that is top notch.
In between some of the segments, we get to see HOT Anna Lexington (dressed in next to nothing) segue the next scene. I would simply eat the corn out of her shit.
The production of the DVD is great. Most of it was filmed in pen sized hidden cameras located on the ear of Patrick Kendall and some of the other cast members. Considering the source of film, the quality is superb and the sound is even better.
To sum it all up, Jim & Don are going to hell (watch the "flowers" chapter on the DVD to see why). If that's the case, I plan on murdering a few Puerto Ricans, 'cause hell is going to be one fun place to spend an eternity with them around.
